How to document water damage for an insurance claim
Adjusters are not standing in your living room. The photos and notes you take in the first hour are doing the talking.

Burst pipe, dishwasher hose, ice maker line — get a clear shot of the failure point before it is replaced.
Map the water path
Walk the affected area and shoot wide angles of every room. Pull back rugs, open closets, and capture baseboards from low angles.
Capture moisture readings
EMC uses calibrated moisture meters and thermal cameras to document hidden moisture in framing and behind drywall — readings the adjuster cannot dispute.
